Happy New Year! No matter where you are geographically when you read this, I thought we could all use some cheering up and a spark of hope that spring will come--thus the flower pics.

I have spent several days updating the site--new (hopefully better) pictures for classes, updates in several other places, a new class (All Curves Cutwork Applique). I am still taking pictures and hope to have the rest of the class pictures upgraded soon. Ahhh, the miracle of digital photography--you know immediately if you have the shot you want--and if not, just delete it and go again! One night last summer we had an immense thunderstorm; I stood under the eaves and took over 100 pictures of the lightning! Of course only about 10 turned out, but what a ten they are! I know I wouldn't have invested that much money in having regular film developed with that kind of return.

Have you heard the news? Anita Shackelford and her daughter Jen are the proud owners of a Gammill Long-arm Quilting Machine! Check them out at www.thimbleworks.com.  I've seen the work up-close and personal and it is astounding!

For those of you who love the Benni Harper Mystery Series by Earlene Fowler, you will want a copy of Benni Harper's Quilt Album by C&T Publishing. It has patterns for quilts to go along with never-before-told stories! Plus you get to see numerous pairs of cowboy boots that Earlene owns!

Exciting news on the publishing front is that Anita Shackelford and I will be featured in upcoming issues of Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting Magazine! They will be patterning the quilt from our first Wiawaka Retreat, Fabric, Fun and Friendship, over several issues. So keep watch--we'll let you know exactly when it will be starting--as soon as we know!

Guess that's about it for now--happy quilting!
